Our Origins

Batsmen Brewing is a tribute to our cultural tatau, carried proudly by both the men and women in our family.

 

Our women carry the malu, a powerful symbol of protection, shelter, and the safeguarding of our children, families, and village.

 

The tatau is not simply ink on skin — it is a rite of passage, a journey through immense pain, patience, and endurance. To wear it is to carry our ancestors, our values, and our courage.

 

For us, the tatau is a living emblem of determination, respect, and unity. It is this same spirit that inspired the creation of Batsmen Brewing — the first Samoan craft brewery.
